Two great ways to get involved

1. Come to a PTA meeting

  • PTA/Community Meetings

PTA/Community Meetings are held once a month on Zoom. Check the school calendar or Konstella for the Zoom link.

Time: 6 p.m.-7 p.m.

Date: every second Wednesday of the month

  • Monthly Morning Coffee with the PTA

The Sutro PTA hosts a monthly morning coffee meet-and-greet at the Funston Gate! During drop off, please join us to discuss the year's upcoming events and activities, how you can volunteer with the PTA, and ask questions.

Coffee, pastries, and more at the Funston Gate.

Time: 8:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m.

Date: every first Monday of the month

2. Volunteer

Are you a great cheerleader at events? A stellar writer/editor? Have experience with community organizing? Savvy with fundraising? Can work an Excel spreadsheet? We need you!

Parents/guardians of Sutro students are encouraged and supported to actively participate in the school. You can volunteer to help with events, media and communications, fundraising, community involvement/engagement, chaperoning a field trip, or many other volunteer opportunities presented throughout the school year.

We welcome your creative ideas and help!

Stay connected with Konstella

Konstella is the online communications tool that Sutro uses to connect parents, teachers and school staff to each other. Important announcements are sent via Konstella, including information from the front office and Principal and newsletters from your child’s teacher. Each family should have at least one contact in Konstella. Please email sutropta@gmail.com with questions.

Do good things for kids, join PTA !

  • Get connected

By being a part of our PTA, there’s no better way to know what’s happening in our school or to develop relationships with our teachers and principal.

  • Discover great resources

The PTA offers a variety of unique programs, like our garden education and afterschool enrichment classes (which in 2022-2023 include Mandarin Chinese, coding, and robotics). We also provide support materials for students, parents, families, schools, and communities on ways we can work together to achieve great things!

  • Speak up

The PTA gives families and community members a “seat at the table” when important school decisions are being made.

  • Be a role model

By becoming a PTA member, you demonstrate to your child the importance you place on their education and how we are all responsible for the school’s supportive atmosphere.

  • Enjoy extra benefits

PTA members can enjoy exclusive money-saving member perks including discounts on school supplies, rental cars, amusement parks, and much more.

  • Make a difference

By working together, PTA members advance local, state, and national laws and policies to improve the education, health, and well-being of all children.

Second District PTA

“How many of us know people who quietly do so many things necessary to helping our schools and PTA function? Those rock stars behind the scenes?

Well, Irene Fung, member of the Sutro Elementary School PTA is one of those.

Irene quietly does so much essential work for the school and students, including putting together and ordering the entire yearbook, as well as coordinating the details of bringing many after school programs to their school. She is integral to their PTA and school community, and we'd like to recognize her for her efforts and hard work.

Thank you, Irene!”
